A Fun Crafternoon

Yesterday I went over to my friend Kerrie’s house for Tea and Crafts and Crumpets (aka cookies, pastries, and other yummies). Kerrie has a fantastic blog called Sea Kettle Diaries — go check it out! She’s super creative and had a bunch of girls over today for crafts. Most people brought something to work on, but since I didn’t really have anything I was working on at home, she provided some stuff I could get creative with.

Some of us made MOD PODGE PICTURE MAGNETS! This is a great gift idea, or if you’re like me, and don’t have many magnets on your own fridge, make some for yourself! I was like a magnet making factory. I just couldn’t stop finding cute pictures I wanted to make magnets out of. 🙂

Here’s all you’ll need:

  • Some magazines you can clip pictures out of (or find pictures online and print them out)
  • Mod Podge
  • Glass pebbles ($1 at the Dollar Tree for a whole bag of them!)
  • Magnets to glue onto the back of the stones

Here was the result of my afternoon. I had a lot of fun, and these are super easy! Thanks for the great idea, Kerrie! She also told me you can get some Altoid tins, mod podge-decorate those, and put a few magnets inside the tin to give as gifts.

Wednesday Round-Up: If I could do 3 crafts…

Call me lazy, but it’s been a heck-of-a-week so far. I haven’t had much time at all to blog the way I want to right now. So for today’s late roundup, I picked three crafts I’d like to attempt in the next coming weeks or months. I think if I was Martha Stewart I’d say I’d do them in the next 3 days, but we all know I’m not Martha.

1) From Live a Little Wilder we have a cute DIY scarf hanger. This would be really fun to do…. might require some shopping around for scrap wood and unique hooks/door handles/knobs, but it would look amazing hanging in the hall. My scarves would look pretty sweet hanging off it too….

 2) Here we go, mod-podged letters from Tater Tots and Jello!! I think these are super cute. You could do so much with these on a door or in a room….add lots of color to any space! I want to learn how to do this.

And then finally we have Satsuma Orange Candles! How hard could these be? I found this idea on Honestly WTF … a really fun blog to peruse. She’s got everything from stories of travel adventures to fashion decorating ideas.

Well, readers, that’s about it for me tonight. Hope you’re all having a good week so far. Goodnight!
